SLC Saturday Farmers Market customer comments

Large variety of produce, plants, crafts and very friendly atmosphere. This market is a pleasure to visit.

The diversity of growers and crafters is amazing.  There is always wandering musicians and many good food vendors to experience. We came as growers to the market 3 years ago and have found the greatest patrons and new friends among the vendors. We have been asked to other markets but have a great love for our place in Salt lake.

Because I sell there

We Have been to many and this as large as it is. is so organized and well put together

It has gone from being a very small market to becoming a full on market that covers most of the park that it is in. It brings the community together and supports those that live downtown with fresh produce. It so busy that if you don't get there early on Saturday mornings it is hard to maneuver your way through the market! It is healthy eating at its best!

They are very helpful to producers, making it easy to start selling your produce at a farmer's market.

It has some of the best varieties of fruits and vegetables as well as unique crafts and many dairy/meat products. No need to go to a store when the market is in season!

We not only have a wide array of local fruit, vegetable, cheese and meat vendors, there are also wonderful prepared food stands, local artisans and artists, musicians, and weekly events.  The bike valet is free and convenient.  And the whole wheat pancakes with buttermilk vanilla syrup...so good.

High quality local authentic minerals love community etc... Why not?

The Downtown SLC Farmers Market supports our area farmers, many of whom return each year.  This area provides great fruit and vegetables throughout the year, something most people wouldn't expect.  And the fruit season is simply amazing - with berries, cherries, peaches, apricots, pears, apples, and lot more!

Great set up. It's been getting better and better every year. Perfect weather. Perfect setting. Super energy.

Wide diversity of produce from the entire state shows up in this market regularly...from pecans and melons from southern Utah to grass-fed beef in northern and western Utah to berries, cherries, honey and fresh eggs from just north of Salt Lake County. We even have small producers who have plots in the city and bring herbs and greens...The prepared food encompasses everything from Sudanese specialties to Mexican dishes, fresh breads, iced limeades and lemonades to Italian sausages...and those are just the foods I try...many more available. Great crafts of many types also available and of very good quality. I like buying special wedding gifts at the market.

There are so many farmers who attend the weekly market and an enormous amount of produce, meat, cheese, honey.  This market is an excellent example of buying local from farmers.  I travel around the country and this is the best farmers market I've ever attended

because twitter told me to  http://twitter.com/downtownslc/statuses/2297713623

It's pet friendly. The vendors offer lots of samples. The food is fresh and delicious. Everyone is kind. Nice place to spend a Saturday morning.

The Salt Lake Farmers market is a great place to obtain organic produce and locally grown food.  That is rare in places like Utah

Because it involves produce and local arts and crafts. It is a shop local paradise.

This is not only a super Farmers Market, but a juried art and craft fair as well. Top notch produce at reasonable prices, a variety of foodstuffs, and a juried art show all in one. As many as 10,000 people visit each week!

This market has the most astounding vendors and farmers, offering the very best. This market is as good as an art's festival.

Lots of great produce! Great People! Great ART! Well run!!!!!!!

Because we have fantastic farmers, great diversity of products, killer food manufacturers, and a committed staff at the Downtown Alliance! They've created a meeting place/destination for Saturday mornings, complete with yummy prepared food to eat, live music, and a virtual arts festival of crafts to choose from. This market rocks!

Because the have the best pottery booth, Creative Clay Works.

Robust and varied, the Downtown Farmer's Market in Salt Lake City has grown into a gem, not exclusively for downtown, but for the entire Wasatch Front.

A wide variety of produce, honeys, and jams from around Utah.  Great art and atmosphere.

A wide variety of vendors, crafts, artisans, as well as artisan foods.  Each year the market gets bigger and bigger with more attendees, as well as more farmers and local food vendors selling more.  It is actually a weekend destination in its own right.  We love our local market!

Best variety of items and easy access.

The city of Salt Lake has done an amazing job of putting their resources into making their farmer's market #1. They have added a sidewalk system that follows a natural path guiding everyone to each of the vendors that have brought their wares. They have added a very large fenced in dog area that allows dogs to play and roam with their owners without having to be tied up. They have brought in a wide variety of entertainment for each Saturday market. They also have a large area with tables and chairs for everyone to sit down and eat the wonderful food that is made at the market.  The variety of vendors, food and crafts, are screened by their committee so only the best in each category is available. They have authentic African food, India food, Mexican food and many other freshly made types. The craft vendors are all original also, with each seller making their own products and no commercial crafts allowed. And of course the produce from the local farmers is exceptional with a very large variety of choices each week throughout the summer. Sorry to ramble on, but I love going to our Farmer's Market each Saturday.

Rain or shine it is there and now they are expanding to have it open more often than once a week.

The need for fresh produce is ever growing in a processed food nation. The Downtown Farmers Market is the place for fresh local fruits and vegetables, artisan cheeses, jams and so much more. Many vendors have started and grown their businesses at this farmer's market which helps keep money in the local economy. The weekly market is a community gathering place, a social event, where thousands come to interact which local farmers and vendors, friends and neighbors. The success of the market shows the importance of all of the factors above and the community appreciates the effort that goes into making the Downtown Farmers Market such an important event.

It contains beautiful produce throughout the summer.  The growers are knowledgeable and helpful and enjoy interacting with customers.

Fantastic vendors.  The farmers market pumps some life into an otherwise desolate Salt Lake City Saturday morning.  It's great to be able to buy fresh good directly from the producers/growers.

The Downtown Farmer's Market has helped to introduce people to the idea of eating locally and has helped to revitalize our downtown.  It's one of the best parts of summer!

It very nice. With lots of different type of produce available.  Also, there are unique crafts

Our market is very not salt lake... it is inclusive of all people here. great food, art and more

It has everything and the market is in a beautiful city park

Great variety of produce, specialty foods, excellent location, great arts and crafts, friendly, helpful people

The Downtown Farmer's Market has a great vibe, with an ever changing selection of produce, food and art.  There are activities and entertainment every week, so it feels new and exciting every time you visit.  Kid and pet friendly, everyone is welcome.

It feels like the most authentic and easy-going event that takes place in Salt Lake City all year long. It brings together all aspects of the community -- all ethnic groups, all social and economic groups. You can be talking to dread-locked Rastafarians one minute and Mormon missionaries the next. One grower says "I knew you'd want basil" and saves it for you. An artist will do his/her best to create something in the color you want and bring it the next week. It's great!

Not only is it a farmers market, but it is a network of caring individuals who support each other year round despite a very pro-big business culture in our state. The Downtown SLC table also has FREE stickers that say "No Farms, No food!" which sounds right up your alley.

Always the friendliest environment!  EP Pays

The variety was amazing and the people are wonderful.

It's a blend of local produce, artistic talent, and energy that makes a Saturday morning an event.  It is a way for all of us to celebrate farmers and farmland and to get up close and personal with the people who serve as shepherds and stewards of the land.

Salt Lake has a great pool of talented artist. This show is juried, no buy, and sell.  So each weekend you see high quality, hand made, local art.  Also, almost everyone has a garden.  So the quality of great produce and specialty items is exceptional.  Also, Utah people "make their own" This means the variety is wonderful.

The Downtown Farmer's Market is such a great summer market. This is my second year attending and I have made so many friends at the market. It is really a great place to relax on Sat morning and enjoy summer.

Located in a downtown park dedicated to the pioneers who created the State of Utah, the Farmers Market brings fresh, wholesome foods and craft items to a place easily accessible to a large portion of the urban population.

It is like a big party every Saturday morning, great food, great produce, music, activities for kids and very professional arts and crafts.

It encourages local produce as well as local arts & crafts booths and local food vendors.  It is dog friendly and it is obvious that the city is making an attempt to provide a fun, local-oriented event in the city every Saturday morning!

This Farmers Market has some of the best produce I have ever seen.  There are always fresh herbs, all kinds of lettuce, fruits, and vegetables.  I love the variety of food vendors that are offered, Caribbean, Thai, Mexican, bakery goods, health drinks.  Also, there are unique artisans and products. I have experienced fun music and entertainment also.

The quality, professional, absolutely joyous atmosphere is fun for my entire family.  It feels like a full blown arts festival/ fair mini size every weekend.  I love our market!

simple it's the best

Our market has a wide variety of produce mixed with crafts which gives it a unique feel. The market's fee to farmers is very reasonable and brings life to the park it sells in. It has had a major impact on the community and has a wooden nickel program which allows those on food stamps a chance to buy local.

There is great energy every Saturday with a wide variety of food and art!

The combination of mountain air, fresh food and wonderful people make the SLC farmer's market the best in the nation.  I've been to farmer's markets all over the U.S. including NYC and Boston and this market brings a much-needed and appreciated sense of culture and diversity to Utah.

You can have 5 hours of family fun in great surroundings. Start with fresh coffee and baked goodies or a taste from another country. Shop for local produce and the art/craft market for lovely handmade items. Then a bite of lunch at the many table located throughout the market and listen to our local musician. Fun activities for kids Bring your dog (on a lease) and let him/her run and get a drink in the new enclosed dog park. A fun and economical way to spend a Saturday with family or friends in the fresh air. Easy access, lots of parking, a bike valet even, clean bathroom facilities and ATMs L (in case you find the perfect something that you just can't live without). Support your local economy!

This market has been growing for over a decade.  It has a variety of unique foods and art.

Great produce, good price, variety of food and art. Handmade items are very unique and well made.

The Downtown Salt Lake Farmer's Market has really helped our City feel like a community.  It is in a wonderful city park, features all local and handmade food and crafts, and is a great place for me to see all my friends and neighbors.

The Downtown Farmers Market makes available an abundant variety of fresh and locally produced foods. In addition to the great fruit and veggie selection there are 3-4 meat vendors-beef and pork.   Last summer the Market began accepting food stamps as payment-The Wooden Token program as it is called has created access to fresh and locally produced food for low-income households.   In addition, the atmosphere at the Market can't be beat. There is great people and dog watching, music, and wonderful prepared foods to feast on.

It has the best variety of crafters, fresh produce, bread, herbs, and delicious food!!  Utah cherries are the best anywhere!!

The great produce, lively music, and home grown, down to earth products that I just love!

Because they have the best produce!

To many people's surprise we have quite a diverse community which brings a large assortment of products to our market.  They are priced very competitively, almost always being cheaper than anywhere else.  We also get produce from several local organic farms.  The craft vendors are some of the best in the valley with everything from organic body care, exquisite original jewelry, and hand carved wooden bowls to name a few.  It's a treat to be able to talk directly to who is making your products.  You are also able to snack on food dishes from around the world. With the live music every week, even if you aren't there to purchase produce or original crafts it's a great place to come eat outstanding food and just hang out with friends, human or animal (there are just as many people as dogs).  There's just no comparison to local grown or made products and we have some of the best.

Fabulous produce, Most of the produce that comes out of the market is pesticide free and it is all sold at a very reasonable price. I have never had a bad experience or bad produce. There is also delicious food and a huge variety of locally made art and crafts. Prices are very reasonable. The park itself is beautiful.

I feel that the blend of fresh produce, organic grown meats, dining and the crafts/arts make this a unique market,  All of the live music adds to the ambiance.   I attended the very first Downtown Market.  Pioneer Park was considered a drug haven in a bad neighborhood.  There were only about 5 farmers there that first day.  Since then, the neighborhood has undergone a renaissance due to the Farmers Market.  Restaurants, specialty food stores, condos, and a Hotel are now in the neighborhood.  The park has been cleaned up and is a great place to visit.  There is a Dog Park. Play ground, and a Bocce court.  I would estimate that over a thousand people attend every Saturday morning.  Farmers love it and will generally sale all of their produce, flowers and meats by the end of the market day.  Where else in Utah can you buy fresh mushrooms!!

Yummy local produce! Good people and great food!

Produce, coffee, hot food, and music!

The overall size and friendly atmosphere.  Great local produce weather in the morning is wonderful in SLC.

It is helping to bring awareness to eating and shopping locally and revitalized our downtown area. Utah can be seen as being a bit far behind in some matters in the u.s. so I greatly appreciate that our farmer's market is so approachable and seems to cater to the entire community, not just the 'granola crunching' crowd. Also they have a program to accept food stamps, which is great and helps the people who really benefit from healthy affordable food.

Great produce, wonderful community spirit, good support between vendors-We LOVE our Farmer's Market!!!

most beautiful food...fabulous layout...helpful alliance people...gorgeous magnificent

No better place to eat locally!

Because everything is fresh. And all the vendors are wonderful. Thank you so much.

The Salt Lake Farmers Market does three valuable things: supports local farming as suburban growth eats up the land; revitalizes the downtown corridor; and brings people together in a lovely community setting.

Because there are so many farmers who are committed to sustainable organic farms

Because there is a lot of variety and comparable choices for what I'm looking for, It’s great!

The Salt Lake Market has great local producers, an active and supportive community and size and ambiance are the best

This market has improved from really good to superb during the last three years I have known about it. Variety of booth types, styles and presentations is very appealing to the eye.  This attracts more and more people every year.  The atmosphere is outstanding.

Great market in the downtown of Salt Lake.  We need more local outlets of this sort.  Great place to network with local businesses

I like this market because farming is so important to Utah, good food good health.

It's the best!!!!!!!!!!!

one its full of everything, everyone comes to it full of fun and time with the family where everyone can find something like from food to music. It's place for everyone

Awesome market has everything!!!

It has some of the best produce I’ve ever tasted.   As well as it brings the community together in a way nothing else can.

If you haven’t been here then you will never understand. The salt lake farmers market is the best because of its file and diversity.

Love the atmosphere, ALWAYS OPEN TO EVERYONE!  Lots of vendors. And the best scenery in the country!!

For a community with little appreciation for locally grown and produced goods - the Salt Lake Farmer's Market is phenomenal.  It is a great place to connect with our community, recognize local farmers and artisans.  I love it!

Community

Salt lake city Farmers Market

good people watching freshest produce reasonably priced live plants local value-added products good variety of food options

It’s the only reason I come to Salt Lake City.

Love the people and the feeling and down to earth experience

It's a gathering of all sorts of Utahans that one can't encounter in any other venue--the people watching is fabulous, as is, of course, the produce.

It's fresh and exciting and the best community event in Salt Lake; and that is saying something.  The produce and the people are genuine and unique.

I love the eclectic things available. It really gets the community together.

I think all markets are great for our country and I feel they are all great.  Salt Lake is my current favorite because I live here but I support all local markets and feel they are becoming more and more necessary.

Friendly and well-managed, easy to visit. Nice attitude by everyone.

I love the Farmers Market it is the first place I am visiting from flying on vacation from Jordan in the Middle East.

The Downtown Farmers' Market in SLC has become the heart and soul of summer! I couldn't get through the week without all the great produce, plants and gifts I buy at the Farmers' Market each week. Besides, Utah farmers are the friendliest folks around!

I love this because it allows me to shop in one location and reduce my environmental impact.

it's a great place to buy food and to hang out

The loving energy that is here!

Cause we needed one bad. It is healthy and fun

Utah climate allows fresh produce to flourish.  We are lucky to live in such a beautiful place with the space to hold such a fabulous market. Not to mention all the arts and crafts

This market is fun, authentic, and energizing! Hands down, the best I've ever attended.

It is in a beautiful setting, and the farmers give us the most beautiful products in the nation.  Our farmers are our neighbors and the most earnest people in the country.

Every year from November to May I look forward to the Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City.  It has a great mix of raw and prepared foods, as well as incredible arts and crafts.  The street music performers are extremely talented and personable.  It's a great place to meet with friends and shop outside of doors every Saturday morning.  There is even a free bike valet and many booths for non-profit organizations that are very active in Utah.  The best part about going to and buying things from the Downtown Farmers Market is that it puts a face and a personality with the products you are purchasing, and knowledge that you are supporting one another.

The variety and quality of available goods. The number of organic growers as well as number of grower’s period. The location is excellent within the city, but in a park and it is VERY heavily attended. A community gathering place. Also, fantastic crafts are welcome. There is even a free bike valet.

I think that the Salt Lake City Farmers Market is number one because of the diversity that surrounds the market. We have a variety of growers that come from every part of the state of Utah. I was surprised to find out that we grow some of the best tasting produce in the country. I had some cantaloupe today from the market that tasted better than candy! We have also come a long way from the beginning. There are several food and craft vendors that have become so successful that they earn their living by attending the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market every Saturday. We also have a huge success story that comes from a food vendor that came to Utah from Mexico. If you are chasing a dream of becoming a business owner or want to start selling a product to support your family then the market is the place to start!

A diverse blend of community partners that satisfy the needs of a diverse crowd.

This is a well-planned, well-marketed, well-attended farmers market with a great variety of quality offerings.

Thousands of people attend this Farmer's Market every week, rain or shine.  You'll find all kinds of fresh produce and flowers as well as beautifully created local art for sale.  Local chefs sell wonderful, mouth watering food.  People arrive early for breakfast and stay late to have a scrumptious lunch. Local musicians entertain while people shop and eat.  The atmosphere is inviting in a downtown park with beautiful trees that provide beauty and shade and you'll find lots of friendly and happy faces. I don't think a Farmer's Market could be any better.

It grows every year. It caters to a wide audience. I enjoy going as do my children. The items offered for sale are always the best of quality.

Actually, Salt Lake City is not my local farmer's market, but I had family take me there while on vacation.  It was the most amazing farmer's market I've seen!  It was huge and had such a huge variety.  There were lots of fruits and vegetables, as well as tasty prepared products.  They had a wonderful selection of natural products (like lotions, etc) and hand crafted items.  There was a greyhound rescue booth, sustainable clothing and beautiful jewelry.  It was a place to go every weekend for staples or for present shopping for birthdays and holidays.  There was literally something for everyone.  I was so impressed...I can't wait to go back!

The downtown Salt Lake Farmers Market has great produce, bread, cheese, etc. It is "must go to" Saturday morning destination and a place to get local, fresh items.  The historic pioneer park setting is wonderful and it is a great place to shop, eat, relax, purchase art, listen to music, etc.  Everyone is welcome (dogs included).

There is always a great variety of produce and baked goods. The prices are reasonable and you can't beat the freshness.

They do such a great job of bringing together local farmers who sell quality produce and local craftsmen selling their wares.  Also, SLC has set up a booth promoting composting and selling sizeable composters at a great price.  The entire farmer's market is committed to strengthening the community and environmentally sound.

It is a huge hit for locals and tourists alike.  It is a pleasant atmosphere with numerous different booths, local grown produce, home made crafts and items that are very unique. It should be noted as one of the best farmers market and has the potential to be expanded to a new and larger location.

It's big, beautiful, particularly friendly and well laid out, with a broad variety of produce, bread & other treats.  It's convenient to get to, but once you're there, it's a wonderful haven in the midst of the city.

It is the greatest mix of Fresh produce, Art, Crafts and entertainment. It really brings the community out to support our local business.

We go to the Farmers Market every single Saturday because of all the wonderful stands full of fruits and vegetables.

Greatest variety of seasonal and specialty items, as well as variety entertainment and weekly activities.

Awesome combination of local produce (vegetables, fruit, flowers, meat), arts and crafts, and socializing of humans and dogs.  Particularly love how the farmers market highlights the diversity of food options in our valley.

I LOVE IT!!

Great vendors of all kinds.  Great environment.

Salt Lake's Farmer's Market is not just about local fresh produce, although there is certainly that. It is about community taking back an area of downtown known mostly for drug dealers and crime. In the years since the first Farmer's Market, the neighborhood has become affluent, as artists, restaurants, and local merchants have moved in. It has become one of the most desired neighborhoods to live in downtown Salt Lake, despite its still being the home of two homeless shelters and three food banks and despite the continued drug trafficking that runs through the park itself.

The variety of locally grown foods tops the list.  The quality is also very impressive. There is also so much variety with prepared food and jewelry that every time I go, I find something new.

After living in several cities (i.e. San Francisco, Bloomington, IN, etc.) that offer farmers’ markets, the downtown farmers' market in Salt Lake is the one that feels most like a community-centered place, where a diverse cross-section of the community really come to gather, enjoy locally-grown produce, music, and arts. I love it!

The Downtown Farmer's Market is a great gathering place for the community with diverse offerings from meats and cheeses to veggies and fruit in addition to art, food vendors, and nonprofit booths.

The Downtown Farmer's Market in Salt Lake City is the most unifying community event in our great city.  It brings together citizens, farmers, artists, artisans, performers, and anyone else who wants a great Saturday morning.  It has given our city the culture and identity it has needed.  Thank you!

The Downtown Farmers' Market in Salt Lake is "the" place to go on Saturday mornings in SLC!  In addition to a wonderfully edible assortment of local produce, there are food vendors, crafts of all sorts, music to listen to, and cooking demos.  The list goes on.  Only local produce and meats can be sold at this market, and they are careful to keep tabs on that.  This way we know that we are supporting local farmers and ranchers, and getting really fresh food!  I love our farmers' market:)

A gigantic farmer's market, the best I've ever seen!  The very best produce, cheeses, meats, restaurants and very high end crafts, every week I try to buy something different, and have not exhausted it yet.  I attend RELIGIOUSLY and it's one of my very favorite things.  Buying from local growers and vendors is essential to sustainable living, and so much more fun!

The farmers make the Salt Lake Farmers Market my favorite. They offer a wide variety fruits, vegetables and flowers. Many are organic and all are served with friendly helpful advice on how to store and cook them.

Not only do I get fresh local veggies and fruits, it’s a gathering space, where I can always count on seeing friends.

It is a haven of local values and community in an otherwise oppressively conservative place.

Absolutely amazing selection and variety.  Great vendors that are so willing to share their knowledge with the consumer.

It's well managed, there are a huge number of regular attendees, and the vendors offer a wide array of very different products, plus nearly all of the farmer's that attend are not only local and sustainable, they are organic!

Lots of organic produce

There's always a wide variety of produce, bread and prepared foods, lots of fun things to eat, music and entertainment, and an artist's market. Parking is very accessible; the people are friendly, making it a fun way to spend family time every Saturday morning. I'm proud to support our local farm and business community.

awesome place and a great atmosphere  it's a family event every Saturday

Yummy food, good music, lots of fun

This eclectic group of vendors offers Salt Lake a variety of not only food, but art, music, jewelry, artisans, crafts, and more!  It's a must do for most locals and a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning shopping, feasting, people watching, dog strolling, and supporting all of our great local sellers!

I have lived in, and visited, the farmer's market in Dallas and Salt Lake City, and the farmer's market in SLC definitely excels in comparison.  The people selling produce are knowledgeable, and often related to the farmers, and the majority of people selling are actually growers, rather than distributors.  There is a true emphasis on supporting the local economy as well as food grown locally at the SLC market.  Plus, the art vendors and local food vendors make it a really fun, festive Saturday morning experience.

...The only way I feed my family.

Wondrous selection of organic produce, as well as local eggs, meats, cheeses and breads.  Not to mention friendly people!

Talk about neighborhood revitalization - the Downtown Farmer's Market transformed historic Pioneer Park from a place to get drugs to a place to get connected - meeting a plethora of vendors from neighboring towns, and realizing the enormous humanitarian effort in providing local, sustainable, fresh and nutritious foods to a community.

Salt Lake City's Market should be one of American's favorite farmers market because of the variety of local farmers, and local vendors. The easy access to getting to it, to the paved and un-paved path around the market. The valet parking, for bikes and automobiles. The valet service for your produce or goods you buy.

the greatest farmers market salt lake city

Sense of community. Variety of produce and items for sale. Confirmation of interest in local food supply artist.

I think the Salt Lake City farmers Market at pioneer park is THE best because it offers a large variety of food locally grown and lets people know what is available.  The fresher the food the better it tastes and is for you.

Not only does the Salt Lake Farmers Market showcase a wide variety of local food but it provides a much needed atmosphere of community and solidarity in a city that needs it.

There is such a variety of produce, cheese, baked goods, prepared food and handicrafts.  The local produce is unsurpassed in quality and freshness.  The many prepared food vendors sell dishes from a large number of different ethnic backgrounds that can not be found anywhere else, especially all in one place.

This market gets better every year....we need to showcase local formers and artists and this is a great forum for this.

Great place.  Look forward to it every weekend.  Gem of culture in a city not know for it.

It is big and busy which leads to more supporting of local Salt Lake City produce, arts, crafts, and food. I have spent every Saturday every summer for eleven years and it is just in general, WONDERFUL!

Fresh...Fun...Fantastic!!!  Every year more vendors, farmers, and citizens come together to create an excellent community market.

What market is your favorite depends on where you live. The one in downtown Salt Lake supports my community and that's what farmers markets are all about.

Salt Lake has the best mix of every culture at our Farmer's Market. It's amazing to meet new people and experience all the different things Salt Lake has to offer every Saturday.

The Downtown (Salt Lake City) Farmers' Market quickly became a Saturday morning EVENT for all of Salt Lake City early in its history and it has continued to grow and to attract larger crowds every year since.  The opening Saturday this year looked as though it had never closed for the winter.  Thousands of consumers throng to an area of the city previously considered ill advised to visit any time, causing a ripple effect in the neighborhood which now houses many new businesses and is still expanding.

You can find anything and everything at the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market.  You know you are getting good products that are produced locally and the money is going back into the community.  What a great way to support one another!

Simply, it has EVERYTHING you could possibly want.  Fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, dairy, entertainment, flowers, artisans, etc... And everyone cares about the environment and our healthy well being!!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the salt lake farmers market=)

Everybody loves to gather at the SLC Farmer's Market. The variety of vendors, products, fresh produce, activities and live entertainment makes it one of the best events in the area.

All the local cheeses are absolutely delightful.

SLC's Downtown Farmers Market brings us together as a community around a shared table as a result of our toil in the soil.  Those of us who are citified get to relate with one another over the bounty of the local farms and at the same time are able to reward the farmers for their efforts.  The great thing is that we are all brought together in our diversity because of the wonderful array of fruits (and veggies) of the earth nurtured by those who care for and work the land.  We truly become community when we share fun and food in a festive weekly celebration throughout the summer and fall! This is critically important to help provide support for keeping agriculture alive and well as the SL valley farmlands are being gobbled up by one of the most rapidly urbanizing areas of the West!

This market makes it easy for Farmer's to participate, includes events, concessionaires, and crafters to create a festive event, and does a bunch of marketing.  In the end, there are great farmers, great local products and LOTS of people.  It's fun and fantastic!  It's doing a great job of getting local food to the masses!

The Downtown Farmers' Market brings together people from all walks of life every Saturday. There is a vast array of vendors and the people watching are fantastic.

There's always a great selection of food and the vendors are so nice. The prices are also really great.

Fabulous foodstuffs - at this high altitude, at the edge of a desert, it's amazing we get such great products. Produce, local cheese & meat...it's amazing. And they use a downtown park that was sadly in need of a clean up; now it's a safe & fun place to go!

The variety is remarkable.  The location is perfect because the park traditionally had a bad reputation.  The Farmer's Market changes all that!

Great Selection of Produce and other Products

Unbelievable quality and diversity of fruits, veggies, meat, cheese, mushrooms, and fish, amongst other things.  Friendly people but above all great quality of food is what makes this market a winner.

Not only is the produce from local farms and gardens, we have local protein sources as well, (beef, lamb, pork, eggs, cheese and fresh fish).  The many food booths are anticipated each week. We are able to get to know the producers on a first name basis.  The craft booths are a real treat as the quality and imagination are very high.  And it's just a fun place to meet up with friends and family!  Starting in January, I really anticipate it and hate to see it go in October.

The fresh food! The community getting together! I love meeting my "neighbors". I love the atmosphere! And I love being able to get fresh organic produce, meats, eggs and goat milk products.

Great people.  Great produce.  Right at the base of the Wasatch Mountains.  Love SLC Farmer's Market!

It is big enough that you can spend the whole morning. It's something we look forward too even if we don't have anything to buy. LOVE IT!!!!

Fresh veggies, cool folks, awesome space.

10 thousand people rejoicing in farm and food magic! What's not to love?!

The Salt Lake City Farmers Market has a soul and is the center of life every Saturday.  The diversity of products, people and flavors is exceptional.  The people are lively and it is "The Place" to be in SLC!

Salt Lake City Farmers Market wins!!! It is such a great place for the community to gather and share crafts and delicious natural food.

The Salt Lake City Downtown Farmer's Market, despite being a smaller market, has everything that you can find at any larger market across the nation. There is an abundance of delicious foods and locally grown products available at this market.

Excellent Choice, wonderful karma.

Excellent Choice, wonderful karma. Salt Lake City Farmers Market

Because it supports our local farmers who work very hard to support themselves, it is good for our Utah economy, it is better for our environment. Because the city has work very hard to make this farmers' market location a fun place to be; it is a place to bring our community together to support each other & increase awareness in different issues, etc.

It get better and better every year!  Excellent Layout Great Produce, live music, great vibe. Fun fun fun!

Consistently good and large.  Diverse fresh produce and crafts.  Centrally located and accessible to mass transit.  Well-designed market.

There is such a great atmosphere and the quality is unbeatable. It's been a family tradition for sometime now to attend our local farmer's market and so I guess you could say I am simply a market goer by nature. It is something inherently wonderful, the idea of receiving fresh produce at fair prices that benefit my local merchants. The local farmers are some of the hardest workers I know, and for what they provide, they definitely come out on top. I figure it's a win-win for everyone.

I have visited Farmers Markets all over the US and Salt Lake is the BEST.

The Downtown Farmer's Market is the best I have ever seen!  There is such a wide variety of vendors from home-made soaps and candles to screen printed baby clothes, and fresh beets and mustard greens!  My daughter got her first taste of English Peas straight from the pod at the market three weeks ago and now she can't get enough of them.   This market attracts people of all shapes, colors, ages, and demographic - it's a great way to support local retailers and farmers while also spending some time with neighbors.

It's small enough to really get to know the growers, but big enough so that I can get my whole week's worth of groceries there. In Utah we can grow most anything, and such a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, cheeses, bread, meats, flowers is available there that I hardly need to go to the store for anything in the summer! It's very family-friendly with activities for kids, arts and crafts, lots of dogs (including ours) and great breakfast food! We love our market!

This is one of the busiest and best markets in the country. The produce is amazing, and if you don't make it there by an hour after opening, your favorite farmers might be out of all the food they brought! Utah farmers are a breed apart: hardy, honest, committed.

This market continues to improve and now it is so great and popular that farmers often sell out. Get there early.

Largest and best supported Farmers Market in the area.  Thousands of people attend every Saturday to buy the freshest produce and support local small businesses.

Because this is an amazing outdoors atmosphere of diversity cultural, is not only fresh vegetables, it is art, handcrafters, music,  food ready to eat, great times and much more...

Because of the variety of local products, produce, and arts and crafts. It is set up well and easy to navigate.  I like supporting local products and the local economy. The quailty of the food is better than that which is trucked in. Plus it's easier on the environment and saves fuel.

A wonderful place to gather with the community and support local agriculture. There's nothing else quite like it here!

I love having the opportunity to find local produce. It's a great way for the community to rediscover seasonally-fresh foods and learn about their landscape.

Downtown Salt Lake City Farmers Market.  Awesome variety that is fabulous and spans the seasons.

The commercial food supply has gotten so confusing and deceptive. It is nice to be able to support local farmers and know I'm buying real food. It's also a great way to develop a sense of community and get to know our neighbors.

The market has grown to truly be one of the Top 10 things to do in SLC every year. When I talk to friends, its one of the things they couldn't live without in Utah now - on par with skiing and the Sundance Film Festival! Except the celebrity variety here are tomatoes. Along with a wonderful regional selection of produce, fresh vendor-made items, and the juried craft market, it makes for a full morning every weekend. Especially when you see friends, make new ones, and know the market participants by name in a short time!

The Salt Lake City Downtown Farmer's Market has taken great efforts to offer a wide range of local produce, growing from just a small handful of booths in its beginnings years ago to string of produce booths, as well as crafts and food today.  They have also encouraged produce vendors to accept food stamps as payment, and include people of all economic levels to shop at the market.  Furthermore, a sense of community is created by their encouragement of bikers and community groups at the market.  All in all, it’s just a slice of heaven on the Wasatch Front!!

The Salt Lake Farmers Market has become an institution.  It has some of the best vendors anywhere, selling wonderful goods with a neighborly smile.  They believe in recycling and they accept food stamps.  Every time I visit the market, I feel like I'm visiting a world long forgotten by our fast-food, instant gratification based society.

This market is fantastic - local produce, artists, beautifully crafted fresh foods and half the valley out on a Saturday morning. Even better, this market has helped redefine what was once a run-down park. It is now an area safe - and open - for all.

The reasons why I am particularly fond of Salt Lake City's Pioneer Farmers Market besides its investment in local and regional economies before others, the ethical and community consciousness it raises, and its general focus on fostering sustainability, is because of its ability to mend and grow our Small Lake City. Culture explodes in this small park every Saturday morning before vendors get the chance to fully set up their booths or hoist their tents into position. It is a wonderful experience that I look forward to all the year around. Sometimes I will bike or walk from my home to the market with empty pockets just to experience the sites of fresh produce spilling out of baskets, tangy flavors wafting off the open grills, the chattering of families and banter of unexpected acquaintances, the funky rhythms and riffs of native virtuosos - the overall experience of our distinctive and convivial community.

biggest and best in the state

it brings the community together after our long hard winters

Not only does it have fresh produce but it has amazing food and local musicians. It is really a gathering spot for the Salt Lake valley.

It's right in the middle of a busy downtown area and brings local produce to a very busy world.

We love the farmer's market we drive in from Tooele. The fresh produce is unbeatable. We also buy homemade soap. The atmosphere is terrific; it's a great way to spend a Sat. morning.

It has a nice variety of fresh local produce but also has prepared foods, pottery, jewelry, etc.  It is also a great place to watch people and dogs.

It's well organized; you can shop each area without having to run from one side to another to find what you need/want.

Great produce. Large Includes artists. Lots of activity.

Downtown Farmer's Market showcases the best in produce, baked goods, meats, and businesses that the Wasatch Front has to offer. Convenient parking and "veggie valets" make the experience even better.

I purchase most of my produce from the Farmer's Market.  I buy what is there, as I know it is in season and the receiving the product is not wasting nearly as many precious resources as most supermarket goods.  In addition, the local feel and the delicious food stalls will always have my heart!

It's the best!

It brings people from Salt Lake together, it's better for our local economy, and Utah used to lack culture- the Farmer's Market helps to change that!

I love the diversity of what you find there.  Not only the best fruits, vegetables, nuts, breads and goodies, but art, clothing, music and such a variety of people.  It is a wonderful way to spend a day!

There is always so much to do, they keep only the highest quality producers, and it is organized in a perfect manner.

The people who participate in the farmers market are great examples of local growers and small businessman.  They are knowledgeable, humorous, and a pleasure to buy from on a weekly basis.  Cooking with fresh produce, being able to pick up a gift from a local artisan, and mingling with my fellow Utahan’s is always a joy at the Downtown Farmers Market.

It has a large variety of local fresh produce and meats, lots of delicious prepared food, many artisans and is lots of fun to go to

The SLC market is a truly unique and authentic reality in this city of "pre-conceived notions" of what community actually is. In a community such as Salt Lake City where so much is orchestrated by the dominate culture, the Saturday Farmers' Market and Arts and Crafts Market feels like a delightful slice of reality separate and apart from the polarities that are so often associated with Utah.

We live in a desert! Fresh, quality food is hard to come by. The market has forged a community of people who quietly spread a quality, environmentally sound way of life - the alternative to the status quo.

Consistently have high quality vendors with high quality food and art. Just a general "feel good" place!

It's a good food party every week; and brings me great eats from the whole state.

It if just fantastic and has grown in size and popularity. Loads or organic fruits and veggies, meats from free range livestock, locally produced cheeses, flowers, jams, honey-you name it!

The scope of exposure that Salt Lake City’s Downtown Alliance Farmers market brings to new vendors is extraordinary. Because of its centralized location within the State of Utah is crucial to the success of this particular market.

Friendly, knowledgeable farmers and vendors with the highest quality produce and artisan prepared food and a like minded community that gathers every week.  What more could you ask for in life?

so many great people and a great range of vendors

The fun atmosphere. Variety of food, beverages and crafts. I love coming here on Saturdays with my family just to people watch.

The people are so wonderful, the produce is always so fresh and it is all around the best thing to do on Saturday morning!

Wonderful people-all so friendly and an awesome variety of stands with local products. Wish I could come every week!

SLC Farmers Market Rocks. We Kick Ass

great produce

So many great food and crafts!! always part of my Saturdays

great venue, great vendors......great times

Best Produce in State and it’s grown locally.

The combination of locally grown foods, plants along with home made meals for sale and awesome hand made crafts and very affordable prices.

For the quality of the product.

Because it supports local farmers.

Great all inclusive market!

It has everything! It is so much more than just a market. It is a social event.

It has organic produce, wonderful food made on the premises, coffees, homemade herbal lemonades, live music, cooking demos and contests, bicycle valet parking, red wagons for the kiddos to ride in (or your purchases), a dog park, and crafts. Oh, did I mention massages?

Lots of fresh and yummy freebies!

The Downtown Farmers Market in SLC is exceptional! It is very large, well laid out to accommodate crowds, clean, and offers a huge variety. I always mark the first Market Saturday on my calendar and look forward to it eagerly. Booth-holders come from neighboring states, as well as all over the State of Utah. You always meet interesting people and the food is always delicious. It makes me proud to be a SL resident!

The Downtown Farmer's Market brings together people of all ages, nations, and persuasions -- and their foods, flavors, and customs. The vendors are friendly, the food is fresh. It's a wonderful way to spend the morning -- noshing on snacks from Africa, India, Mexico, local bakeries, coffeehouses, and restaurants and buying lovely fruits and vegetables for weekend get-togethers. We love to take out-of-town visitors to the market to give them a taste of Salt Lake not enjoyed from our own backyard. Live On, SLC Downtown Farmer's Market!

Excellent variety of farm goods, restaurants and crafts.

Great produce, great variety, and great artists!

It has great atmosphere, great people, food, produce, crafts and most of all, it is so much fun just to hang out and browse around the booths. Everyone is friendly, eager to explain what they do, where the food comes from, how they raise it... It brings joy to my Saturday mornings!

There is a huge variety of locally grown and produced products and they are all delicious!

I really love the Downtown Farmer's Market in Salt Lake City. It has so much going for it, that it's rather hard to single any reason out. It is fun, healthy and a great way to meet new people on Saturday morning!

Great produce. Great way to get the community together. I don't like to miss a Saturday.

It has such a wide variety of food and items to buy. It's a fun atmosphere and they also have massages!

I love the people, the food, the smell; it is what America is all about!

I appreciate the opportunity to create a face-to-face relationship with the producer(s) of the food I eat.  I may only see them for part of the year but if I see their product in the local grocery store, I am more likely to buy their product rather than a national chain's item. Our local farmer's market has inspired our city to renovate Pioneer Park, turning it from a nightmare location to a place I love to visit whenever possible.  This would not have occurred so quickly but for the annual Farmer's Market.

Has a little bit of everything....including people and dogs...

The great sense of community; the people, their products, the empowerment of "buying local" and the many like-minded friends we see every weekend at the Farmers Market downtown has a wonderful feeling about it. It's an exchange of positive energy, livelihood and creativity that makes this community event extraordinary.

This market displays the diversity and variety of community members that live along the Wasatch front in Utah.  All groups of people and pets shop, eat, listen to music, and support local farmers and artists.  The park this is held in is also where a large portion of our homeless community sleeps.  Many farmers share food with them and offer day jobs to help these individuals.  It's a great place to be on a Saturday morning June to October every year!

The wide variety of products for sale of consistently high quality. The people who raise the food or make the products are the ones who are at the market selling their wares -- so I can ask them questions and believe I am getting reliable answers from them. The friendly and festive atmosphere of the Market makes it the social highlight of my week.

There is a huge selection of produce, foods, and crafts available. The market is very well attended and caters to many ethnic groups. It is an important source of income for many Utah farms.

Lots of choices!! Makes you want to go every Saturday since there’s always cool things to see and delicious, fresh food to buy.

The Downtown FM is a fun and exciting affair in our city where hundreds of people gather every week for a sensory overload of fine food, fresh, high quality produce, convivial conversation, great music and gigantic dogs and parrots. Ever Saturday there is always something new and exciting to behold, digest and rave about until the next beautiful performance. There is a palpable sense of genuine love for community that spills throughout the market venue located in our Historic Pioneer Park.  I always look forward for the market every year and hope it remains an important and increasingly impactful landmark in my life for years to come. The success of this market has greatly helped plant the seeds for more markets sprouting up across Salt Lake and throughout the state, feeding a growing desire for the unique local arts, craft and fresh produce that defines our own communities.  I have had the grand opportunity to serve as market manager of a farmers market at the University of Utah, now for its second year and constantly earn great inspiration from the downtown market to help make our own venue an important service to the campus community .

Great local produce, the vendors are all really helpful and knowledgeable.  They are great at giving meal suggestions, and new ways to look at food preparation.

Our downtown Farmers Market has it all. Food, music, crafts, information, and, most importantly, community. All the middle men are removed and the people who ultimately eat the food interact with the people who grew it or produced it. The Farmers Market allows both vendors and attendees to interact with the broader community and gain a sense of place. It also reminds us that the food we eat actually comes from somewhere and that other humans were involved in the process of growing and creating it for us, often with love and a real sense of purpose and dedication to the land

SLC Farmers market is the best around! I have been to many as I have traveled- and I appreciate the wide variety of local foods available at this market. I appreciate that I am able to make full meals from wholesome foods while supporting my community. An added bonus is the entertainment and other goods- these add to the ambiance of the market. The Farmers Market also provides a sense of community in our urban environment.

I've been attending the market longer than I can remember and have watched it grow from a few dedicated farmers and buyers to a downtown festival that happens every Saturday during the summer. Despite the addition of booths to sell crafts, prepared foods and non-farmed goods, the Downtown Farmers Market has always remembered its roots and kept the same excellent spaces for the farmers, year after year.  It is important to me to buy food grown locally on farms owned by those who live on and work them. I believe we must support those who provide our food and we must support those who are our neighbors. The Downtown Farmers Market gives me the opportunity to do that -- without worrying about falling prey to the "green washing" that corporate interests are now engaging in.

This Farmers Market is not just a great place to buy local fresh food but is a fantastic community event.  Along with fresh food, local artists display their wares, local restaurants serve great food and there is live music. It brings all walks of life together.  I run into neighbors, friends and business associates.  This market transformed an abandoned park in the "wrong" side of town into a major social gathering place.

It is very popular.  Every person I know goes to this market every Saturday during the summer.  We all look forward to the produce, food vendors & variety of specialty booths.

Nice mix of goods from local farmers, craftspeople, prepared food...along with music/entertainment.  Nice setting. Wish it was a year-round market.

Utah has a unique growing climate so it is amazing to see how much can grow in the desert!

It has a large and wide variety of produce, organic meats, fish, plants, food, and crafts.  It is a wonderful melting pot for people from all over the state, including many new residents from various cultures.

I love the atmosphere at the market. It’s great to be able to buy fresh produce grown where you live. The live music and the people are a lot of fun!

I love the people-watching and the dynamic atmosphere the farmer's market creates in downtown Salt Lake City.

The Downtown Market is always setup on time, has great variety, and the prices are reasonable. I am willing to spend a little more at the Farmers Market than at the regular store, because then I can meet the grower and develop a relationship.  If it wasn't for these farmers, the big commercial organizations would be running all the farms, and using either genetic modification or too many pesticides/fungicides for my taste.  Most of the farmers in my area use the absolute minimum chemicals, if any at all.  Yeah for them!

Beautiful setting, great people, great food and crops, beautiful arts and jewelry.

Fabulous assortment of fresh farm produce & other activities.  Very well managed & lots of fun!

Brings people to a park that has historically been neglected thereby upgrading the entire area.  Organic farming well represented and participants also include local makers of cheeses, bakery's, small restaurants, etc.  Not only great produce and local products, but nice place to spend a Saturday morning.

It is diverse in its offerings, the produce is fresh, and the venders are extremely friendly and helpful.

It's eclectic and has a variety of goods and food!

I really enjoy supporting our local businesses.  For example, I discovered the Tea Grotto at the market and now shop at their store for great teas!  No boxes, no bags, no over packaging...just great tea in a reusable container.  I also met Beverly Hill of Beverly Hill's Bakery.  If she had not had her booth at the Downtown Farmers Market I would have never known we had such a fabulous gourmet bakery, using fresh local ingredients, right here in the city.

It's just an awesome location/venue for local farmers & other hard-working individuals to offer to the public their "wares".. It's a great social gathering every Sat. morning from mid June to mid October.

It's a great fun atmosphere to introduce fresh and new vegetables and fruits into your diet.

The Downtown Farmers Market gives children and adults alike the experience of buying right from the grower. The fruits and vegetables have come right out of the ground (or off the tree) and have the smell of fresh soil and the warmth of the sun. No plastic looking produce that has been sprayed to look just "perfect", This Farmers Market offers the best of everything from produce to dog treats to home-made stepping stones. It's a new experience every week!

It is in a great location, accessible by metro and bus.  The park provides shade and cooler temperatures, the booths are all well-stocked, the grounds are well-organized.  The produce is nicely marked and the sales staff is all so into it.

Our market is more like an event. It has something for everyone, from fresh produce to food vendors to crafts and plants. It is so busy that if you don't buy it now, it won't be there later. There are so many people there is no "going back" for something.

Our local Farmer's Market allows the average consumer affordable and convenient fresh produce as well as other delicious foods and fun crafts and art. It allows for the opportunity to try new items without a large commitment or investment. The atmosphere at the market is fun albeit busier and more crowded year after year, the demand is obviously here and the need for more markets evident.

This particular Farmer's Market is in an area of the city which is struggling to find an identity. Having the market in downtown SLC is great for the people in this neighborhood and the city as a whole.

I love the diversity of the products and all the beautiful Utah bounty.  The people are friendly and make the market a lively and enticing experience.

The market has helped to create a vibrant neighborhood which surrounds a park with a bad reputation. I love that the market attracts vendors from all over the region and has brought all kinds of people together. The market has been an incubator for new businesses that have now found permanent homes at the market and in downtown store fronts. Every year the market gets bigger and better with more variety and opportunities to buy quality produce, baked goods, and other products. It’s just a great place to spend a Saturday morning.

No market in the nation can compare with the Salt Lake City Downtown Farmers Market. It provides the perfect mix of fresh produce, food and fun. We go every weekend and can't wait for the extended Tuesday Harvest Market beginning tonight!

It is the best farmer's market in the whole of Utah and surely one of the best in the country. It buzzes with activity every Saturday and has a feeling/vibe of back to nature, home grown and happy living.

This market is amazing- over 200 vendors! Something for everyone

The farmers are second to none with produce quality. The vendors and crafters are so original and fairly priced. Bikes are valet free of charge and it brings some life to downtown.

Great food, great produce, good diversity, and lots of art and crafts. It's the best.

The Salt Lake City Downtown Alliance Farmer's Market offers an eclectic number of vendors, craftsmen, local foods & lots of interesting things in between.  It is a huge success for the town.

Salt Lake City's Downtown Farmers Market not only offers residents the opportunity to purchase local produce and support our local farmers/artisans, it also offers the community a fabulous gathering place every weekend! It truly helps to bring the community together.

Fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, plants and flowers etc.  Friendly knowledgeable vendors & huge crowds of happy upbeat families and friends.   Talented artisans and every variety of crafts.  The place to be on a Saturday morning!  There is no substitute for locally grown products.

It has everything and a great following in the city with its customers. Very unusual items, at times, too.

The downtown Salt Lake Farmers Market caters to everyone in the city. Smack in the middle of downtown, it allows people from all walks of life to get together and celebrate what our land gives us!

It always has great products and everyone comes to get together and enjoy what is right with Utah.

Because this market set the standard for fresh, unique, well planned and marketed event.  Rain or shine it happened but perhaps the best characteristic is that it helped in changing the landscape and walk ability to a blighted area.  The standard also included partnership with area arts and cultured organizations while reaching out to the disadvantaged communities.  They are doing a great job and have my vote!

SLC Downtown Alliance Market - It is all home grown or hand made items - all natural in both the produce and art craft market sides.  Offers very unique and variety of items. Live Music is offered.  Can't beat the item prices or quality either.  What more can you ask in a market?

Best possible selection, wide variety of vendors and fresh, organic choices, chef challenges, musicians, crafts and the best people watching ever!

Everything is local and great quality. Love the arts and craft section too.

Our Market allows customers on the state food assistance program to use their EBT cards on a dollar for dollar basis cashing it in for wooden tokens that are accepted throughout the Market.

Because it has everything you could possibly want.  But most of all the produce, artisan cheeses, food vendors and artists are fabulous.

Haven't seen anything better.

Just added Tuesdays to the schedule.  Diverse selection, unique location.  I love talking with the friend's I've made that I buy my produce from.  They really love what they do.  LOVE IT!

Because the produce is fresh and the people are friendly and it is the only 4 hours of the week when there are no transients in Pioneer Park.

quality product

Great food!!

The selection of fruits and vegetables are one of the most diverse I've seen.  It is very well organized.

It is the BEST!!!!

fresh vegetables

Location is ideal, parking not a problem, vendors are helpful and courteous, and the food is FAB, and so fresh. Thank you to all who produce it for us.

There are so many yummy fruits, vegetables and cheeses.  I love it!

its awesome

It's a fun, diverse and thriving market!

It just has magic about it.

There is nothing as wonderful as fresh and clean food!!!!

It is fun!! The sellers are having fun and there is so much diversity brought together to buy local.

Not only can you get an incredibly variety of products, but many of the growers are there every year, meaning that we city-dwellers get to cultivate relationships with those growers over the years.  I've gained a much greater appreciation not only for the products that the growers sell, but for the care and dedication that they put into their work -- I see produce and food as art now.

Life of the city on Saturday mornings. People from all walks of life attend. Great produce, wonderful ambiance and terrific support from the community. It's best of class.

It seems that the current trend is to eat more foods in season that have the most nutritional values to control weight issues and to promote a more healthy lifestyle.  The Salt Lake City Downtown Alliance Farmer's Market has so many produce vendors that are aware of the community's desires to achieve such an undertaking. Having the market two days a week is awesome, and provides availability of fresh produce more frequently.

it has the best and nicest farmers they all are good to me  and it a good market every thing you need every week

It brings people together from all around Utah, wonderful produce and great prepared goods.

Knight family is the best

Size and variety!  It is also very well run and organized.

It's a lively scene bringing people of many ethnic backgrounds together who have a common interest - beautiful local organic sustainable food!

The vibrant feel along with great produce and artisan products make this the all around favorite place to be Sat. mornings.

I travel frequently to Salt Lake City and always make it a point to visit the Greatest Farmer's Market around.  There is always a large variety of fresh produce, cheeses and other delectable goodies to choose from.  Can't wait for my next trip!

Great diversity of products.  Well organized.  Friendly people.

There are so many great veggies, baked goods, wonderful food and fun artists.

The downtown salt lake pioneer park farmer's market it the best because it unites salt lake city, and offers everyone a place to gather and share ideas.  It helps promote environmental awareness, and offers a venue for locals to share their goods.

It has transformed a central park in Salt Lake City from a drug market to a vibrant city park lined with new businesses and residential buildings.

Lots of variety, fresh food, fun atmosphere.

Utilizes a space that many in the SLC would never visit.  Nice variety and it brings many in the city together with a large variety of goods.  Growing rapidly.

The vendors are spectacular, but I especially love the fact that the Market revitalizes a formerly frightening city park in the historic core of SLC.  There are also farmers there from all over - bringing fresh produce to an area where we would normally not have access to farm fresh goods.  We want this industry to grow!

it has supported the production of a fantastic variety of local produce

Salt Lake City's Downtown Farmers Market is an energetic event featuring fresh produce, mildly processed local food products such as dried fruits, jams and honey, many handmade arts and crafts, nursery plants ready for planting, food vendors, and entertainers.  In addition to the cornucopia of great items to buy and enjoy, it has also become THE place to see everyone you know in town.  The event has contributed greatly to the revitalization of a formerly blighted area of the city.  The market is a weekly community celebration from June through October.

It provides a vital aspect of linkage for the community of people who participate in it. This in turns promotes a greater sense of rooted ness to Salt Lake City.  The overall sense of a larger presence of the farmer and the citizen is important.  It puts a face to the source of food rather than a corporate logo.

The Market captures true entrepreneurial spirit, sense of community and promotes the local economy as a grass roots level.

It gives us access to better and safer locally grown products and helps keep the money in the pockets of those that produce it.  It's also a fun experience just being there

I have been going to the Salt Lake City farmers market for about ten years now.  I love to support the local growers and artisans there and to see or speak to them face-to-face.  It's also a social scene and a highly anticipated weekend ritual for me.

It is a celebration of all things local: community, food, entertainment. The Market has revitalized a historic downtown district and brought vibrancy to downtown SLC. I love international travel and being at the Market reminds me of Europe and Latin America. Engaging with the farmers and artisans is educational--I feel better knowing from where my food is coming.

Fresh produce and delicious baked goods. Best brunch in town!

Great selection of very fresh high quality and LOCALLY GROWN produce.  The local artists also add interest.  I'm not Mr. touchy feely but it does feel good to help support the work of people within our community.

All of the food is very fresh, good selection, and fair prices

Great market.  Awesome produce and all-around good vibe.  Wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.

Because we get SO many kinds of people there. It has really reshaped the park, and the surrounding community.

It is full of life, love, fun and good foods.

Aside from providing my family with nutritious, delicious produce and farm products, the Salt Lake City Farmers Market gives me a sense of pride, knowing that I support my farm neighbors and knowing that getting fresh food close to home reduces my carbon footprint.  I especially like the fact that everything is grown in the USA/Utah and hasn't been treated with chemicals in order to make a long trip from another country.

Very well supported by the community. Brings people together and helps promote good health and local farmers. Always fun activities. Goes beyond just produce!

It not only currently supports around 200 local vendors, but is very involved in reaching out to small local companies who need help getting their products in the public eye. It is also one of the cleanest markets I have been to and the people are so very friendly and helpful.

I love Salt Lake's Farmers Market because its a social shopping experience - I see everyone and we exchange great shopping finds, enjoy lattes, support local growers and my downfall - purchase plants, my garden is getting very full!

It brings people from all areas and backgrounds together to share in something together.  A fun place to take my kids and get them involved in being sustainable, buying local and eating healthy.

I love seeing what is new and fresh each week. I plan my week's menu by what I'm able to purchase at the Downtown Farmer's Market. Plus it's a great social event too!

Excellent vibe in a downtown location. Good variety of products and great produce from real farmers. The food I buy is more alive; better tasting, and supports local.

Great selection of food and products and a good atmosphere.

There is a wide variety of produce, beautifully displayed.  It is a fun event to meet family and friends in a beautiful park, with entertainment, great food to eat and to buy!  Our local farmers are a delightful group, and they add to the fun of the market.

It has so many local vendors with amazing products. It's the highlight of the season and wouldn't miss it.

Because it has single-handedly transformed a blighted city park into a gathering place for the entire community.

BECAUSE OUR LOCAL PRODUCE IS THE BEST!

It is full of the wonderful produce grown right here around us. We have run into so many friends and have been embraced by the people behind the stands. Just a lovely day to look forward to every week!

Not only is it the place to get locally grown products, but it is also the place to BE on Saturday morning and Tuesday evening.  So I can satisfy my need to support our small farmers while I satisfy my need for social interaction.

The Downtown Farmer's Market is one of the best that I have seen in the country. It has a diverse amount of food each week and always a magnitude of people. It is the talk of the town and people always look forward to getting up early and make a morning of the market. Many local restaurants got their start from this market and it just goes to show that communities can truly support each other and help build a great place to be on a Saturday morning. In addition the staff is incredible and always helpful. I look forward each week to getting my fresh produce from the market.

It's fun and loaded with everything you could want at a farmers market.

The Downtown Farmers Market brings together people from all walks of life. Although much of the state of Utah seems to be a desert, the Farmer's Market is a witness of the Earth's goodness and bounty---with fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, honey, and artisan foods. The festive atmosphere and amazing tastes have even made it one of our young children's favorite places to go.  We love to meet and visit with the farmers who grow the food. We love exposing our children to new sights and tastes. And we love knowing where our food comes from when we sit down to dinner together every night.

Well balanced, great local variety of natural/organic produce and goods

It's a great way to get fresh produce from local vendors in Utah - plus, we have the best sweet corn EVER!!  Yay!

Wonderful vendors of not only the freshest fruits and vegetables available, but also wild mushrooms, handmade cheeses, and several bread stands.  The food is complemented by local artisans who sell creative candles, soaps, and beautiful original artwork and clothing.

Great people, great food, great fun!

It's great! Farmer's markets are an essential part of our economy - a way to support local farmers producing good quality, local food, and a great way to make our communities more tight knit and self sustaining.

It is very diverse, you can find just about everything grown and made in Utah. It is very well organized and successful.

It's the best in the intermountain west.  It's a place where people come on Saturday Morning to hang out. The Produce is fresh, varied and great.

Cuz it is my home town. It has helped clean up a park and helped local growers and small biz owners and creates new ones. It saves gas and energy too.

Having had the chance to visit farmers markets across the U.S. and having some great markets in my hometown of Toronto, Canada...the SLC market is only lacking that it is not permanent.  It has a great mix of farmers and merchants reflecting the Utah valley and surrounding mountains.

It's amazing! It's become THE place to be on weekends. Great food, great people, great fun. Now they are opening on Tuesday's, too. It just keeps getting better and better.

I love this market.  It has been in my life for 14 years!  I started my food business at the SLC downtown market in 1998 and continue to support the growth of this great venue for local.

Wonderful selection of fresh food and products I love the friendly atmosphere and the proud sense of community. It is like hanging out with neighbors.

Our market runs for 21 solid weekends with participation and support from vendors and community through 100+ degree days to rain and snow.  Never a dull weekend.

The Market not only features an amazing variety of delicious and wholesome foods, but it has served as a key element in bringing a dying part of our city back to life.  People now come to the park where the Market is held at other times of the week to walk their dogs, enjoy free movies and concerts, and relax in the shade while watching others play bocce. The Market reminds us we're a vibrant, diverse community whose differences should be appreciated and celebrated rather than feared and avoided.

I love the variety of produce vendors! The Sheriff's Dept has a booth that convicts run (with supervision, of course) as a fund raiser. They sell some tasty organic treats! Also, there is a small 4 acre farm in the county to the south that is completely self-sustaining: bees for pollination (they sell the honey), chickens for manure/fertilizer (sell the eggs), they use hogs to till the land and just relocate their pen as needed, and have the most delightsome veggies! And elderly gentleman sells his honey and honeycomb from a rickety old card table, etc. There are brilliant youth sharing their musical talents randomly interspersed, and informational booths for a variety of interests to be found in Salt Lake. It's a delight! And they've set up a system for people on food stamps to be able to purchase the fresh fare. Brilliant! I love going there...I love participating in a system that is healthful for all. No farms=no food!

Incredible selection and tons of awesome people.

Best I've ever been to...

Tons of crafts, vendors, international cuisine, fresh veggies from regional vendors, great music, awesome location!

By making the market a destination event through entertainment, crafts and well-chosen range of farmers and ranchers, the Downtown Farmers Market has created a sustainable economy for dozens of local growers.

It rocks!

It has grown extensively over the years and now provides a huge selection of local and regional offerings from local growers and purveyors. It also includes strong artisan and educational components.

Accessible, diverse, and growing bigger every year...Salt Lake City's Farmers Market brings much needed, locally based products and foods to a hungry audience.

It has grown each year.  It is a pleasant diversion in a downtown environment.  The people and the products are wonderful.

Utah's unique geographic location makes a wide variety of fruits and vegetables available at a farmer's market that is held in the heart of a major urban center.

SLC's downtown Farmer's Market is great because it brings together the community.  Not only does it provide people with the opportunity to support local farmers and businesses, but it brings the community together in one spot.  Salt Lake's Farmer's Market is extremely well organized, diverse in offerings and is something I look forward to every week.

Easy Access and great variety with the farmers market. Fresh produce and much more.

Lots of different options and sellers. I like the varieties of apples provided.

It is the best! Salt Lake City is a fabulous city with great merchants and vendors! The organizers have done a wonderful job with the event; it is a highlight of my week!

They have great variety. They are interested in promoting the local economy and it has great products.

It is located right in the heart of Salt Lake City in a lovely park. The area has not always been considered the best part of town. The Farmer's Market has enhanced this part of town and brings a diverse group of people together.  The produce is incredible.

Wide variety of products and entertainment. Good place to spend time on a weekly basis.

It gets bigger and better every year, and it's now twice a week.

It is ultra diverse and fun.  It represents many cultures and supports many local farmers and craft makers.  It is held specifically in an historic neighborhood (where crime has risen in recent years) but the market has truly revitalized the area.  And it's all local, local, local stuff!

Beautiful city, beautiful market, great produce, friendly people, wonderful times.

It brings our community together. There's nothing quite like walking around on a Saturday morning, running into friends, picking up some fresh zucchini, listening to music, dipping into fresh salsa ... the list goes on. It's an absolute joy.

Good vetting process for LOCAL/regional farms, great crafts, great layout to avoid overcrowding...

Great Produce! Great Art! AWESOME Vendors Great pastries! Wonderful location! Just can’t get enough of it! Every Saturday I look forward to it!

Amazing variety and stellar location!

This is a well rounded market that is immensely popular and incredibly good for our community.

Best food, lots of great volunteers, and music to help local artists all over the place.  They also have it organized into sections of food-to-order, food to take home (produce, cheeses, meat, etc.), and crafts.  It's great!

Large variety of produce and crafts, fun atmosphere with music, cooking demonstrations, etc.

there is such a great variety of local farmers...produce, grass fed meat, ethnic produce, artisan cheeses and breads and did I mention the best high altitude honey (no, make that the best honey period) in the world?  People think of Salt Lake City as a desert...and yes we are a high desert but there is some of the best food here.  Plus just across the street is Caputos Market that just won the award for the best specialty food retailer in the country.  So please put our farmer's on the map too.  We are an undiscovered food town and state!

It's a wonderful of inclusion of local produce, arts, crafts and food.  It's a true treat to visit on Saturdays from Summer to Autumn. I feel like a responsible and considerate citizen when supporting my local farmers and artisans.

Gives farmers and artisans an inexpensive yet effective opportunity to market the fruits of their labor. Also has grown into an incredible community event, occurring weekly, enjoyed by an ever increasing number of people.

The Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City, Utah makes the whole city come alive! The market is vibrant with the sights, smells and sounds of food, farmers, and eaters all coming together for a celebration of food. The diverse offerings and talented growers and producers remind us the entire journey when food travels from field to fork. The Downtown Farmers Market showcases the best community gathering place and a reminder of the importance of locally grown.

Going to the Salt Lake City Downtown Farmers Market is like attending a weekly arts festival. We make a point of going several times each season, and always take visiting family and friends along. The produce selection is amazing, as is the variety of food and craft offerings. The beautiful city park setting, together with musicians and other roving performers turn the shopping experience into a festive occasion.

Our farmers market is a wonderful place for my 4 year old son to get exposure to fresh produce, baked goods, honey, etc.  He absolutely loved sampling fresh peaches last week and getting to pick out the ones he wanted as well as choosing his own flavored honey! He actually snacked on healthy food and enjoyed it!!! What a nice change!

Huge, really well attended vibrant market with a mixture of foods, crafts, services and music.

The Downtown SLC Market has a great atmosphere, has tons of local stuff and is a blast each and every weekend!

Great place to take the family on a Saturday and support our local growers.  Fresh produce, music, arts, etc

Salt Lake City is known for its sense of community, how could any other farmer's market come close to beating that reputation?  It's not only the variety of items for sale, but also the quality of products and the great people that add to the experience.

Because it rocks!

The Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City has been a great way for us to enjoy fresh, local foods, but also, it's a great way for us to feel connected to our community.  Everyone gets to spend a Saturday morning walking through the park, meeting neighbors, enjoying good food, learning about local issues, and generally having a great time.

It's a great combination of produce, meat, eggs, crafts, food and friends.

It is small enough to be personal... the farmers get to know you, yet SLC has become a big metropolitan area.  So the personal feel is really great!  Very diverse market too -- everything from herbs to local fresh cut wildflowers to produce (of course!) to all kinds of local artisans creations to yummy breads & hot foods.  LOVE IT!!!

Consistent, reliable, diverse, relaxing, free bike parking, held in a regenerating location.

This market has become a wonderful Saturday morning event. Not only is there fresh and sometime interesting produce that encourage you to move out of the same old routine. There are plenty of comfortable tables and chairs to try old standards or new ethnic foods that are ready to be eaten for breakfast or lunch while you are there. Over the years the market has expanded to include a variety of free entertainment and a diverse group of local artist. The produce vendors are fortunately still the main event since lugging around produce gets to be a big job.  Our market has veggie valets that help load your car.

Variety, price, great social outing!

It has everything--tamales, vegetables, art, crafts, adventure...

In an area with few weeks of comfortable temperatures (upper 90s in summer, freezing by October), the downtown farmer's market has grown each year to now host thousands of residents from all over the Salt Lake Valley each Saturday. The newly launched market on Tuesday nights surpassed the projected 2,000 attendees its first week. And this all occurs in an area that was previously considered dangerous and unsavory - where drug deals and homeless camps were the norm. Now the area around Pioneer Park is striving and businesses are opening and expanding nearby. The market is a vital part of Salt Lake City's attempts to revitalize the downtown area and the residents love it.

It brings out all your friends for impromptu chats and keeps us supporting local farmers and food artisans!!

The best food, best arts, best crafts, best people watching, and the best way to spend a Saturday morning!

Lots of variety and educational experiences

Buying and living local is important to the health of us as well as the local economy. Too much of our farmland is being sold to develop housing or to multinational corporations who don't really care about the people and the land, just their profits.  The downtown Salt Lake City market encourages farmers from all over the northern part of Utah to come and bring their produce, and only non-commercial products are allowed.

best produce and atmosphere

It’s a huge part of the social fabric of Salt Lake City. People love to be at the farmers market. Plus the food is great.

SLC rules!!  This Farmers Market is so much fun to go to.  Not to crowded at all.

Well run, clean, attractive, friendly people, every service and product under the sun...

They have a wide selection of wonderful locally grown foods and items.

The dog park and veggie valet.

Fresh, original products.  Colorful and inviting.

The SLC Downtown Market at Pioneer park has the best produce and unique artistic crafts The local vendors are great, the atmosphere and variety of goods are unlike any other market that I have experienced.

It has something for everyone.  Everything is so fresh and in season.  It is so fun to go and sample everything and get some Sudanese food. Love it!

Peaceful Saturday morning strolls wouldn't be the same without it.

Great mix of crafts, food and vegetables wonderful location!

It is just a great market with a lot of vendors and a lot of customers.  I've been to several Farmers Market and I think this is one of the best!

They have great booths, great food, fun entertainment and it's always a good time.

It's so diverse. Everything about Utah's downtown farmers market is colorful: the people, the food, the produce, and the crafts. It lets you know that individuality is still alive and thriving in this world.

The market supports local agriculture of various types and scale, and has also revitalized a neglected downtown park into a fresh, vibrant and usable space.

It's the best. The produce and veggies are Utah's Best plus they allow the Utah artisans to participate and show off their wares. We have been part of it for 4 years and love every vendor and participant!

The location of Salt Lake City's farmer's market is gorgeous.  Pioneer Park, the home for our farmer's market has had a complete turn around and really shows off how lovely our downtown area is.  My friends and family enjoy this event as much as I do and look forward to brining home the finest quality food products after each event.  The food and craft quality cannot be matched and I enjoy knowing where my food was grown.  In addition, it is great to have so many healthy and smaller businesses get exposure.

I'm on Dialysis and at this Market I can find all the herbs and spices that I can use to make great meals and be able to watch what I have to be careful of....

The Downtown Farmer's Market in Salt Lake is a bustling hub of music, art and food- from freshly picked to freshly baked. Anything you want, they've got it.  The Farmer's Market is the place to be on Saturday morning. Even if you don't buy anything, the atmosphere itself is vibrant, which is the perfect way to start the weekend. I only wish it could be open all year long.

It’s the best I have ever been to!

It's the place to be on Saturday morning! Chef

It has everything.  I love the newsletter because it lets me know what bands are playing and usually recipes using the produce found at the Downtown Farmer's Market.  The vendors are great and there is such a variety of things offered.  You know what you are getting.  Fresh, wholesome products.

A fabulous mix of people and produce in the heart of downtown brings the city to life early Saturday morning.

Our week is not complete without being at this market....it has grown into one of the very best events we have attended.

It is just the best!

The farmer's market here in SLC is so fun and I come every Saturday morning to get my fresh veggies. Kim is GREAT

Best food ever!  We love the atmosphere and people!

The atmosphere is wonderful with a wide selection of options to get your produce from.

I've been to many farmers’ markets and this is the best for offering much different type of veggies and fruits.  I love walking around checking out all the vendors for crafts and food.  Keep up the great work. I really hope Tuesday market works out too.  I'm telling everyone about it.

it's in an absolutely perfect and gorgeous central city location, there are amazing fresh products (produce, breads/pastries, sweets, flowers, herbs, etc.), lot's of organic choices, local honey and cheeses, fabulous artists (paintings, aprons, dresses, books, pictures, etc.) and the most delicious foods to sample and purchase! SLC is becoming quite the food Mecca and this market proves it! Such a treat to go to Saturday mornings (and now Tuesday evenings... through Oct.).

This market is THE place to be in Salt Lake City on a Saturday morning. People who, in their earlier youth, would meet their friends at clubs now meet here for coffee, pastries, etc., conversation, AND their weekly produce! It represents the heart of Salt Lake City, and all that is best about living here.

I love the freshness factor and that I know where my food is coming from, locally.

I love the downtown farmers market and the freshness of the fruits and vegetables

I love spending my Saturdays at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market.  It has a family type feeling to it and I love the variety of foods of other products.   I also love that all types of people go to the Farmers Marker!  Plus, the produce is amazing!!

One of the best parts of SLC!

Huge variety, great people, great park location.

great vendors; great food; and reasonable prices

The layout and energy are exactly what a Farmers Market should be. Everybody loves it.

The wonderful variety of items that are available from local farmers and businesses. The fact that you can usually find one of a kind gift items to the freshest produce and the NICEST people to buy from make this my favorite Saturday morning place to be....

Because it is innovative, and fantastic!  I love knowing my farmers and where my food comes from.  Plus, you get a marvelous view of the mountains, and cool clean mountain air while you shop!!!

Because we love it. It has everything we need and at good prices. We love the relationships we make... good people

It has everything!

In a place like Utah, people often think that the population is homogenous. It's at events like the Farmers Market, where you see both a variety in vendors -- produce from all over, meat and dairy, and food from all corners of the world (Sudanese, Mexican, South American, and Caribbean). You also see faces from all income levels that are able to take advantage of our abundant and plentiful local farms.

Friendly, diverse vendors. Clean bathrooms. And dog friendly!

because of the people and venders

It caters to a diverse group of people and ethnic backgrounds. Dog-friendly and easily accessible. Wonderful vendors and always safe for the entire family.

Really well organized, clean and friendly

today august

Lots of variety and it's in the heart of the city!

What a great farmer's market.  Thrilled that it's in Salt Lake.

The selection and prices are second-to-none.  The entire park has been re-constructed to emphasis the traffic of this weekly market with a gravel "road" and "sidewalks".  The is an amazing Farmer's Market!

The diversity of our community is great, that means different produce, and products...

The location is great. The selection is fantastic. The atmosphere is very enjoyable. And the people are all about life's journey...helpful, informative, and fun!

I really enjoy this market.  I find that the craftsmanship of the products is amazing.  The food selection is perfect for my life style.

It is my favorite Saturday morning stop for fresh fruit and veggies!

Because it is fun and just a great thing to come too.

because its a great place to learn, have fun, and stay out of trouble

Been to a number of markets this summer, This is the best one.

Awesome to come here, pick up veggies, etc. Year round please!

Salt Lake City is the best because Utah is not known for organic gardening so we NEED the attention.

great selections, great atmosphere

I have been to farmer's markets in Germany, The Netherlands, Virginia, Washington D.C., Florida; Washington, California....the Salt Lake City Farmers Market is by far the BEST market!!  It is bigger, much better vendors, great customers, great products, wonderful location, great weather, and great attitude.

The market is flexible in scheduling; it has a very inviting feel and is situated in a very accessible part of the city.

This market should be America’s favorite because of its unique supply of different vendors. There is also an atmosphere of splendor and diversity.

Because it just is, come and see what I mean

From Chad's basil to Zoë’s eggs- it's inspiring to be among such passionate growers every week.  It rejuvenates me each time I go!

Friendly merchants, friendly workers, great location. Just an overall great experience!

What a great sense of community; clean, organized and everyone is so friendly

Our market should be the best because there are so many things to love. People from all over Utah come to present there stuff to all different people. The farmland actually is preserved and grows healthy foods.

The best to bring my kids on Saturday... it's now a family tradition

Our friends are here!

It is a happy, friendly place where my dog gets to meet lots of people and other dogs!

Salt Lake City Farmers Market is the best because it's huge, organized, clean, great variety, friendly people, great mix of food and crafts, in a beautiful park; They also have a dog run area.

Great food and the atmosphere is pleasant even when it's busy. You can find anything you want here.

It is the best market with more produce and selection than any other!

Salt lake city's farmer's market is huge! Lots of choices for produce grown without chemicals or pesticides, friendly vendors, great food!

Locally grown, fresh, high quality produce and goods. Large variety of organic produce and grass fed meats, crafts, and baked goods from local vendors. Great opportunity for people to live lightly on the earth, eat healthy, support local farmers and small businesses, and have a great time. Always have free entertainment from local artists.

Love the different produce, the great food, fantastic people watching and a great sense of community.

Because it is awesome!

Not only does the public benefit from fresh produce and goods every day. All farms employee thousands of workers, including migrant workers. I hope to see a year round market within the downtown rising effort.

huge variety, CSA, prison rehab gardens, clean, friendly, inexpensive, dog-welcoming

I like supporting our local farmers and I love the fresh produce.  It's fun to talk to the people who have actually grown all the different produce.  Also the market is fun because there are so many different foods and other items available in addition to the produce.

All my family and friends plan the entire weekend, and even some of their weekday shopping decisions, around the Saturday a.m. market.  It is a community gem!  And - bonus - some of the best people-watching and friend-running-into-ing, that you can find in the valley.

Because it is awesome

Fresh food, plants, coffee and arts. It's a great way to start a weekend- socialize with all the citizens of the city as they eat, drink coffee, relax and listen to music. It's just plain FUN!

Local produce is better, fresher, with less harmful chemicals.  Support local first!

Salt lake city!!

I love Salt Lake Farmers market because of the fresh produce, the delicious prepared food, and interesting crafts.  The people are friendly and there is a sense of community.

Because it is the epitome of the harvest cycle.  I love the fact that I can go to a local farm, see my food being grown and then buy it at my local farmers market.  I also love talking to the farmers that grow my food.  They have so much to share about the growing of food, tips for my garden, how to cook the wonderful produce they bring and so much more. Not only does our farmer's market have produce, there is also a vast array of prepared foods, honey, plants and amazing handmade textiles that showcase our community and what we are made of.  It's purely Utah farming and creativity at its finest!

I love the Farmer's Market because I love having Argentina's Best Empanadas!

Great downtown atmosphere and amazing fresh produce!  A huge variety of ready to eat foods from around the world.  "Argentina's Best Empanadas" shows the fresh from scratch baking that exemplifies the Salt Lake Farmer's Market

Because we have Junior's Tacos! And more hot women than the entire city of Ithaca on one block! Plus our dogs are cuter. And the produce is pretty decent.

Lots of diversity. Great Produce, helpful staff. Yummy pastries. and live local music

It's fun!

This market continues to evolve.  It began as a one block long- one aisle of booths.  Now it fills the entire block.  Many of the booths are local farmers in the sense they are from a 60 mile radius.  They continue to grow more varieties and utilize heirloom or heritage seeds.  The farmers have added greenhouses to grow for a longer season. Even in the down economy- this market was so full at the last hour this morning- people were cruising for parking for bikes!

It's unique due to its atmosphere. T I a welcoming place for families and entertaining. It also welcomes those who shop local and organic and care what they are putting into it.

Davis is all about local and organically grown produce, which is symbolized perfectly through our farmers markets.

It's a great way to bring the community together, and it does.

Art and food and produce... who could ask for anything more?

Best produce. Friendly vendors. Very accommodating.

Just Plain Awesome!

SLC Farmers Market is fun and has a lot of great fruit, vegetables etc My granddaughter and I go almost every Saturday when we are not camping, Sometimes we just like to look at all the things and listen to the music today we went there to get a present and we got lots more.

It has so much variety

The Downtown Salt Lake Farmers Market has a great blend of organic and local producers that cannot be found anywhere except in Utah. The best Utah artisans come together to offer the best locally grown produce anywhere in the country. Heirloom, organic and environmentally friendly processes are a staple at the market. The sheriff’s booth allows inmates to sell what is grown at the jail's garden. The cheeses from Cache Valley are rich and flavorful. And, all the vendors are nice. What other state can boast the selection, quality and diversity that the Salt Lake Farmers market offers? None. Go, SLC!

The SLC market has grown into a major weekly event in the city over the course of the past years, and provides a fabulous networking and educational forum. It gives incentives and an introduction to a different approach to food to an audience that previously had few alternatives. And hopefully it gives growers a chance to sell at fair prices and continue to do what they do well. One of my favorite stands was run by a kid with a few bags of produce - now he's grown and married. He runs a huge booth and he is one of the few selling year-round!
